Philadelphia Flower Show

The Flower show is held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center located at 12th and Arch Streets in Center City Philadelphia. The theme for 2013 was Great Britain. Articultural is the theme for 2014 and runs from March 1-9th. The show is a creation of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS). I didn't know that the PHS was the first horticultural society in the United States and was founded in 1827. According to the PHS, the show is the world's longest running and largest indoor flower show. A great place to eat if you do come to the show in 2014 is the Reading Terminal Market. It's located directly across the street from the convention center. It's a large indoor market with a multitude of merchants with fresh local produce, fish, meat, and poultry, restaurants, an Amish Market, bakeries, flowers and much more. As I previously mentioned I attended the flower show with my mother as a child and still do. I also learned about the Reading Terminal from going with her. Going to the Reading Terminal to shop and have lunch is also something I now do with my daughter. I haven't yet convinced her to attend the flower show with me although she will look at the pictures that I take.  I included a picture of the Terminal below.

Outrageous !
