It's That Time Again-Tidying up the Summer Garden

My love of gardening wanes in the Summer, the heat, the insects, mosquitoes, the sweat!

Planter on stoop.

I actually trimmed it.

Lantana Blooming

Black Eyed Susan Vine minus blooms. I guess I should have fertilized it more!

New growth on foxglove. The new growth normally increases in size and stays green all Winter, at least it has for the last 2 years. I had so many seeds that I saved I think I will sprinkle some around this area and see if some will sprout and fill out the area.

Bloom on hen and chick. I don't care for the blooms. The plant that blooms dies.

I like the shrubs because they are evergreen but I have to do something else with this area. I cut the peony down after it didn't bloom to give the salvia room to grow. I trimmed the salvia after it bloomed earlier this Summer but it hasn't grown back like it usually does after cutting.

One of 2 sidewalk planters.

He was such a big help. The cat is sleeping standing up not looking down! He is showing his age.

Second sidewalk planter.

Some what neater.

Coleus showing out.

Glad to see you awake now after the work is done!

Disappointed with the performance of the flowers. Can't wait to pull them and put in pansies, mums, and ornamental kale!
