On the Porch

The porch has become a waiting place for plants going outdoors in containers, especially annuals. I planted other annuals grown from seed indoor on Easter weekend but they could take some cool nights. They've done well. Coleus, impatiens and other will wait until May to be planted in their final containers as pansies will soon be done. Some have already started to complain about many of the 70 and 80 degree days we have had in April. I wonder did I order these narcissus because they had small blooms. Can't remember. I've already preordered bulbs for fall and have a few more to add to my order. I think I see 2 aphids on the brunnera blue stems. I'll take care of that tomorrow with neem or horitcultural soap. Maybe just pick them off.

Bought 2 hyacinths today at Home Depot. Couldn't resist the scent. Mine have already bloomed.

Brunnera and their beautiful blue flowers below. Upset that the ones planted last summer in the yard have not returned. I ordered this one dormant during the winter and kept it on the sun porch with other dormant perennials I ordered. It will be planted in a container with others for a shade planting that will stay on my porch. I'll show you that when I do it.

Orange calibrachoa for an outdoor planter.

Lantana for one of my daughter's window boxes on her balcony.

Vinca for containers.

Caladium Carol Whorton, I think.

I've wanted a streptocarpus and found one today at Primax Garden Center

My favorite annual salvia.

Another dormant perennial coreopsis overwintered on the porch until I can plant it outdoors.

Did you say what's the matter with that hydrangea? It needs water every day or it looks like this.

I've eaten 3 red strawberries already.
Snapdragons

Palm Sunday

I think our strange weather this winter had an impact of the colors of my tulips. Nothing looks like what I ordered but I've started to order my fall tulips, already.

Sunday visit. My grand pup. After storms yesterday in our area, today was a beautiful Palm Sunday.
