Amaryllis

December

Cold morning to be organizing the porch and planting bulbs. Nineteen degrees this morning. Won't get to plant any outside because the soil is frozen. I'll get around to that one day next week when the weather is warmer.

Bulbs to be planted outdoors on another day.

The fire's been going all day.

Containers of bulbs planted this year, only a few. Usually I plant about 20. Box with my forced hyacinths.

I'll start to bring some in after Christmas.

Bulbs planted in this container also. I didn't water any of them but will get around to that tomorrow.

In the Neighborhood

Lets take a walk. We haven't walked in a few years. Have to start exercising my new knee joint. Seniors need their exercise. The
  neighborhood community garden.

Some tomatoes still.

And kale will probably still be there until spring as it's cold hardy.

Still have peppers.

A larger fig tree and I think cosmos?

Still mulch left.

Stole a tomato from the garden.

I always love admiring the old houses.

Germantown Boys and Girls Club

Lavender still blooming.

Holsey Temple my voting place.

Grumblethorpe. I forgot to cross the street to she the chickens.

The colors of the leaves were beautiful this fall.

Beauty can be found in almost anything.

Is that a trumpet vine or honeysuckle?

That yard had a huge banana tree. They're hardy in our region.

The squirrels were all out today.

Beautiful colors of aster and don't know what the yellow bush is.

We expect our first rain today in over 40 days. The clouds are preparing.

Love the different trims.
Back Home. Hope you enjoyed the walk.

Leaf raking time in the yard. Maybe 1-2 more days needed before all the leaves fall. I had started  leaving them down for insects to hibernate in but there are too many seedlings in the spring from seeds that drop in the fall.
