The Yard

Two hydrangea evolution hydrangea purchased 2 weeks ago and almost dead. We had a heat wave last week. I watered the flowers out front but forgot the yard. I'm upset. They were so beautiful. On a sunny day I'm come out and shake all the dead foliage off and plant them both in pots. Should have done it immediately when they came home.

Sad looking tomatoes. They're actually looking better.

Snails or slugs are eating my coleus seedlings.

Foxglove seedlings still in containers. I'll plant them in the fall out front after the zinnias are pulled. I may start some more for the fall. It would be a beautiful display to have so many blooming.

The foxglove leaves are large.

Past time for them to be thrown away, but they're mine. I'll throw them out soon. Maybe I can cut them back and save them for fall. That's a plan.

Hope it will revive with frequent watering.

Foxgloves again. I have a nice tray of them.

June

Petunias in the window box four days until summer. Petunias love sun but they had to adjust to the hot direct sun in the window box. I watered daily. Once they adjusted I could water less. It's summer vacation for me until August when school starts again. The best part of going back is that I won't be there for long. I'm retiring and so looking forward to it.

I was going to throw out these pot because nothing was emerging months after planting them. The caladium are alive after all.

I guess the narcissus I pulled can now be stored for fall planting.

The pansies are still hanging on in the heat.

A volunteer sunflower amongst the ivy.

Balloon flower looks good this year.

I planted coleus and zinnias amongst the perennials earlier in spring before everything emerged. Don't know if the zinnias will make it but they're trying to reach for the sun.

Another patch of zinnias in the flower bed and my stock seeding which hasn't bloomed yet.

Another type of stachy lambs ear, named hummelo with the purple flowers. Everything is fighting for space this season.

Snapdragon seedings actually made it. They were a mess of seedlings not separated. In the winter when I start more, pelleted seeds have been ordered to make it easier.

Some of the snapdragons are getting longer thicker stems, yeah.

Zinnia seeds planted in the container are getting larger every time it rains. We've had lots of rain this spring although I have to water in between.

Black eyed Susan.

Cosmos

The small area I cleared of ivy for my seedlings. Cosmos, sunflowers, zinnias, snapdragons, and other sprinkled seedlings. Looking forward to the blooms.

My coleus kong seedling.
