Saturday

It's been a mild and rainy day in Philly. Holiday grocery shopping done this morning. Planned to bake a cake today but not done. I'll have to get it done tomorrow. So glad I no longer do Christmas shopping for gifts.

No stockings hanging and no wreath. Next year, God willing. My daughter has to have her stocking. I'll hang it on Christmas Eve. You know you have to put a treat in the stockings. Sitting by the fire watching King of Kings after watching Song of Bernadette with Jennifer Jones. One of my favorites.

Started more paper whites. A few left to start in January. The last before spring.

Marilyn has been beautiful. I'll miss her till next year.

First bloom to die. If amaryllis could stay in bloom forever...

Begonias started to sprout a few day ago. Only one row of 36. I won't know which type they are since I didn't label them until they get their true leaves.

Many foxgloves germinated but the wise gardener mowed them down spritzing with water and they never rose again. I'll sow some more and try... to keep the few that survived alive.

Think my orchid is sending up a flower stalk. She was moved from the cool window seal and returned to her spot on the table near the plant light.

What of the bird of paradise plant in my bedroom. She's doing well near the window getting lots of morning sun and beginning to send up a new leaf. What about the other house plant? I didn't say anything did I, lol!
