What to do with the ivy next season?

Buds on Hydrangea Annabelle. She's needy in the sun. Needs her water. May have to move her where she spent last season.

Sad seedlings of gomphrena and a few snapdragons. They'll perk up. They have until fall. How do people keep petunias beautiful. She looked better an hour after watering.

Salvia and cosmos planted.

Tulip foliage turned brown and pulled. Scattered zinnia and sunflower seeds.

Stock started to bloom finally. Don't remember ordering seeds for white blooms. Maybe they'll change color.

Asters

The daisies are tall this year and sedum is blooming. I never like the blooms but maybe the pollinators do.

Planted a dahlia in the open space. It needs stalking but not today.

The pink poppies were beautiful, but the rain beat off the blooms earlier this week. 

Another dahlia planted and needs staking. It's supposed to rain on Memorial Day. Maybe the rain will help.

Freshened up the container.

Baptisia is always beautiful.

Salvia and achillea.

Lots of blooms this year.

Sad, they don't bloom longer.

Love the Asteraceae family of flowers.

Two sunflowers coming up amongst the ivy. I also transplanted nicotiana and foxglove seeds in this bed.

I scattered a lot of seedlings. Hope they make it.

Removed the pansies.

In the Yard

Time to do more work in the yard. It was a beautiful day. Philadelphia had a cloudy week. This was the first day of sun and blue skies. Planted some vegetables. Lettuce, tomatoes, pepper, yellow straight squash, sad strawberries, dill, cucumbers, and basal. We shall see how it goes. The containers are waterlogged and faded. I've had them for 13 years. In the future I'll decide on new containers. Some that won't fade and made of another material. I like the galvanized ones. Hope the vegetables don't rot. I tried to plant impatiens in the ground but couldn't. Tree roots have taken over. I don't think I can even plant bulbs. Added mulch to the flower beds and pulled weed and it looks better. The critters, birds and the squirrel waited patiently in the trees for me to finish in the yard so they could go to the feeder. I normally don't feed birds in summer, but I may this year.

Put a small piece of creeping Jenny in this container last season. I'll take some for other containers.

Threw out a lot of containers and old soil/bulbs from pots. I can't keep all the containers, they add up. Got 4 bags of trash out the yard and below is the next section to be cleaned.

Last year's hydrangea is making me proud. It's time to plant it in a large container another day.

I have one tiny tomato. Didn't know. Moved them from the plant shelf to the yard today. Did not harden them off.

New feeder. Squirrel learned how to use it in minutes.

The fern is large. It's only spring. Looking forward to seeing how big it'll get.

Hydrangea Anabelle has a lot of buds this season.

Next job, take down the grill for the trash. A new one has been sitting in my living room for over a month. I have to wash the fence first. One panel has green mold, but the other panels aren't so bad.
