Summer

Summer arrived with it's expected heat and humidity. Rain and storms were predicted but we only got showers and the plants really need a good soaking. It's tomato time and I thought I'd be eating my own tomatoes by now but not yet. My cucumber seedling have grown but have a long way to go. Trying to keep continuous color June till August can be difficult unless annuals are planted so today, I opted for some red dwarf dahlias to possibly add some needed color to the flower bed until the ones growing reach some height and start blooming. Inside alstroemeria and other cut flowers bring needed  blooms to the house. I envy those who have cutting gardens and can snip arrangements on demand.

The seasons go by so fast. Fall is quickly approaching and I need to start my list of chores that include some painting outside. Saving the trim up high for a painter. Still plan on starting to paint the porch floor. Most important is getting the heater and chimney cleaned. The ongoing process of decluttering, organizing, and donating items to Goodwill continues. And, I still haven't started making new cushions for the porch. Soon.

Alstroemeria my sunshine in the house.

My Callie

Everything on the porch is green. Took care of that today with some added color and blooms. The miniature rose is so sweet smelling.

If I could get out there... We have to keep her on lock down. She's a rescue and shoots for the door when it opens. Callie's a good girl and has brought joy to the house with her presence.
Home for the summer. Hopefully it makes it back to work alive.

Hope you're enjoying your garden.
