Bumblebee in the Garden

Finally transplanted 2 hydrangea purchased last summer into larger containers along with some pansies. Awaiting it's blooms. A native bumble bee greeted me in the yard today. He was enjoying the blooms and also appeared to be checking out the soil. Nice to see one as the carpenter bees are usually the first ones out. They will arrive soon enough when the canopy of trees start blooming with their pollen.

Lettuce seedlings are really growing.

A fern along with a sheperds rod, 3 types of sedums, a columbine, and a plant joined the garden today.

The scent from one small pot of hyacinths fills my yard. I love it.

Cherry blossom time. Philadelphia had it's Cherry Blossom festival on Saturday.

Tried to dig a hole for the columbine but tree roots said, no.

Huchera will fill the rest of the container. It's slowly emerging.

The plant hospital minus the pansies. I'll plant the hyacinths and narcissus in the ground once the foliage dies back. Lets see if this mum can make it until fall. On the right is a big leaf hydrangea from last season.

Think I'll sprinkle some herb seeds in these pots.
