In the Soil Again

Didn't have to go back to the nursery for bird seed but found it in my neighborhood. Although I didn't buy only black oil sunflower seeds but a wild bird mix. Who will get to the seeds first the cardinals or unwelcome squirrels? I'll be looking to see.

Shade watch.

Drug mulch from the car to the house, to the yard. Three bags went a long way. I'll get more on the weekend. The ground in the yard had already started cracking and getting dry. Will this help the soil? Time will tell.

Planted the bibb lettuce and bright lights chard.

And the wild ginger.

Will plant the hellebores when the bulbs finish.

Deciding where to plant geranium and foam flower on another day. They can sit until then. Maybe we'll get some rain. They should enjoy that.

Me and kitty now on the porch to pull spent bulbs from pots. She got busy eating parsley and chives. I made her leave the chives alone because I think onions aren't good for animals. You would think she wouldn't like the scent but the chives and thyme didn't deter her.

A whole box of bulbs pulled in the box by the door. I'll clean up the porch when I finish planting my container.

Removed the finished tulips to plant some of my purchases from last weekend.

Tulips had a lot of roots. Larges clumps removed and the soil smoothed light and fluffy.

Dahlia added first.

Added angolenia, pansies, licorice plant, nemesia, and asylum.

All pulled.

Will plant the herbs another day in one planter.

Sold out from where I wanted to order them but found them on Saturday at the nursery. They'll go in my planter on the steps.

Impatiens planting in the yard another day. I'm done for today.
