Hydrangea Annabelle starting to form buds.

I bought 4 hydrangeas last summer in bloom. Three did not survive a mild winter. Don't know why. Those sticks standing up in the container is a hydrangea that didn't return. I didn't remove it as the fern took over the container. I bought some more on line. Wasn't please with how they look but hope they make it. 

Didn't get my yearly 1 rose this year. I pruned off dead stems.

Trimmed the columbines in the blue container. They were looking sad. Hopefully they'll come back out and I'll plant them before fall.

One hydrangea survived but doesn't look promising. Since ferns are the only thing doing well in the yard I'll probably add some to these containers.
