Forcing Hyacinths

Will force these first while I wait for my white and pinks to arrive in the mail.

None were rotten but not pretty looking. As long as the blooms are beautiful.

Bulb forcing containers.

Filled to the neck but don't let the bulbs touch the water which might cause it to rot.

In the box and the lid closed to provide darkness but with a crack for air circulation. Then placed in the basement for 12-16 weeks while roots grow. Check periodically to make sure enough water is in the bulb forcing vases. When they've developed enough roots and the bulb flower stalk starts to emerge they'll be ready to bring upstairs and into the light.
