Starting Begonia Tubers

Planted container tulips late but they've started to emerge.

I think not.

Lilies and freesias to go outdoors on another day.

This year I will try to do what's right and plant them. Every year I but them and freesia and never plant them. I have some anemone also to plant outdoors. Can't let them die. They're so beautiful.

They need to be soaked then I can plant them. Looking dead. We shall see.

Planting for another day.

I cut the hyacinths they kept falling over. I bought them from the produce market in nice clear, heavy forcing containers. They look like the exhibition ones that get real big and full.

Tubers form Home Depot were much small but starting to sprout. I kept my Spring bulbs in the basement over winter and all seemed to do well. I bought them when they first started putting them out after Christmas. It's so exciting to see the first green of spring coming out in Winter every year.

Containers I'll use.

Begonia tubers from Dutch Grown.

Planted with the emerging growth upward. Last summer I spent a lot of money for a container of them. This year I spent much lest starting them myself. Hope they're successful.

The tubers were healthy and plump, much larger than the ones from Home Depot.

Thought I ordered one of each but ordered 2 of the peach ones.
